I got some bad news today. I was being considered for a promotion at work. The main criteria for this are supposed to be publication volume and hits on papers you've written or presentations given. I have no wife, no kids, no friends so it's unsurprising that I'm first in both categories in my department--by a very large margin. And because I don't have kids, I'm also the person who does most of the crap work around holidays or between semesters. Unpaid, of course. Because, everyone else has to have time with their family. Whatever. I was hoping for the extra income and the perk of being able to do a lot more work away from campus. Today I learned that our department has joined a university-wide push to promote young women to senior positions especially in disciplines where there are few women. So they gave the job to a woman who has fewer than 5 years of senior experience, less than 15% of my gross publication volume, AND less than 5% of this in the two last years because she's a "young mother." And there's nothing I can do about it because I'm supposedly lucky to have my job. Despite all the extra crap I do without getting compensated.

If you're an incel but you're not a god (the absolute best at what you do), your only purpose is to be an invisible slave. As an incel, if you're among the best in the whole world at what you do, you MIGHT be socially successful. Otherwise, at best you'll be kept as a valued goose to lay eggs. The moment they can, even if you continue producing, they'll butcher you because YOU don't matter, only what you produce for them. If they can get it from someone else they actually value--even if that person does less--you're out. And where will you go? Nowhere WANTS to work with or be around physically-obvious incels.

Don't believe their lies--that working hard matters. It does ONLY so far as making you a productive machine for their benefit. They couldn't care less about you. Step out of line even slightly and they'll sharpen the blade to hack off your head. And thanks to globalism, instead of you, the hideous always-suspicious incel, competing with hundreds of other specialists in your local market, you're constantly competing against millions of others around the world. Inevitably, they'll find someone to do what you do who also satisfies their preferences.

We incels are expendable. Worse, they WANT to get rid of us. The inordinate effort you have to invest to get minimal returns as an incel, at least to me, aren't worth it living with the unremitting, worsening pain of unending isolation. Worst of all, you have to keep it all bottled up because no one fking cares about what a hideous incel is experiencing. And you think you start your own company? Think again. There's a long ass line of people from all over the world waiting for jobs like mine--not because of the pay (not good) but because they've been conditioned to think it's what they're supposed to do. If I quit, before I could hit RETURN on the email they'd have a search committee to find my replacement in less than a week. If you're an incel, you have to find something ONLY you can do so that you're invaluable to the community (even if they still loathe you personally).

At my university they tried to pigeonhole me as a specialist in a specific field and would loan me out to other departments in the uni - despite the fact that I majored in something different and wanted to pursue that area in graduate research and beyond. Nope. Those positions were all given to others (mostly women) because "You're so good at what you do, you should keep doing it!" Fuck you.

Now I had to spend over 3k USD to apply to transfer to a different uni. It's a crapshoot how that will go because despite being ESL, spent my early childhood in poverty, and completed a GED when I disenfranchised myself from my family, I am not diverse enough to be any university's top choice. I went to an open house at my #1 or 2 school this past fall, and when we were in the Q&A portion of the session, an ethnic woman with a disability asked what kind of accommodations my target department has for people who are "differently able." Considering that they only accept 1-3 applicants per year out of hundreds, I knew that my chances of getting in just dropped tremendously. What I have accomplished, what my professional and academic history is, all irrelevant in the face of the almighty academic liberal train of equality - which is why I was trying to get out of research and into application in the first place.

I've hedged my bets and started job hunting. Without a doctorate, my income will be less than half of what it could be, but if i complete the program i am in now i won't find a job i won't kill myself doing and I won't get accepted into any job that I want that looks at my research history because I'd been forced into tangentially relevant projects by the cucked administration. I have literally been checkmated into a life of mediocrity by the people that I have paid thousands of dollars to help me achieve my career goals.

I know how you feel, man. If it makes you feel any better, having a PhD is virtually worthless. In fact (Google it), it DROPS your odds of employment success in industry unless you're doing something research-related. And the return on college degrees and beyond has been in decline for over a decade as we've over-commoditized the market of credentials. A brilliant plot by companies to saturate the market of university graduates so we're all easily replaceable and they can slash our wages and benefits.

I try to tell the guys at my school exactly what you've shared and what I've learned. The statistical evidence is freely available. But no one wants to listen. So there's nothing we can do. But it's like this in every arena now. Except, of course, where the work's super-dirty or super-dangerous--like being a soldier... What's most infuriating is that half the population, other men, are just going along with this.
