Never played it but it's very much generation me.

Of course they replaced all of the hot chicks with inclusive faggotry, and of course they have a whole web page about how diverse their team is. This shit never changes, it's all so tiresome.

I am unironically watching this and it confirms, once again that the PS2/XBOX/Sega Dreamcast/Nintendo GameCube era was the peak of gaming.
Ever since consoles went online games slowly turned into absolute shite.

And why do I think that? PC online gaming was a thing much longer, right? So by my own claims games should have taken a nosedive much earlier.

Don't forget though, that most games were developed for consoles and then ported to the PC, and in fact some games remained console exclusives for a very long time if they still aren't.

So they've had to keep the console crowd happy.

But then consoles went online.

I have caught myself so many times just playing old games or good enough remasters of those games.

I just cannot even be bothered with checking out new games anymore because they turn out to be absolute cash grabs, EVERY.SINGLE.TIME.™

Also, I like CrowBCat's channels.

Not always, but most of the time. I am VERY HAPPY for the Spyro Reignited Trilogy despite the very few, tiny drawbacks and unnecessary changes.

The GTA Remastered Trilogy was good enough for me to buy it used on Disc. But I have made sure to buy it from a private seller so the Devs and Cockstar would not get any of my Shekels.

Good to hear about Spyro, I was looking at the Crash remaster lately since it's decently priced. That any good?

I would not recommend the Remastered Trilogy of Crash Bandicoot.

You will regret it, most likely, if you buy it.

Maybe, if you have a friend, you can borrow it for a console and check it out.

First of all, in many levels the graphics are pure ass. So half-assed, it is sad.

But graphics aren't as important as gameplay and good controls, and those suck bad.

They have taken the jumping mechanics from Crash Bandicoot 3 (confirmed btw) and just applied them to the Crash Bandicoot 2 and 1 remaster.

So, if you have muscle memory from the original games, forget it. You will have to relearn it.
And the problem is the each game gad its own, slightly different jumping mechanics to fit the level design.

So you can't just take those of the third installment and call it a day.

To make matters worse, they have changed Crash's hitbox.
In the originals it was box shaped, which makes sense for a platformer.

Yet in the remaster Crash has a pill shaped hitbox, while all the platforms have box shaped hitboxes.

Naturally landing a jump will be way harder because if you manage to just land on the edge, you will slip and fall to your death.

There are several examples of this on youtube, btw.
Check them out.

I have experienced this as well.

I was so bad that I have just given my xbox one version (disc) away to some chump because to me it is just trash.

In other words, they have ruined it. Not even the graphics are consistently good. It's a mixed bag in that department.

Never played that game, is it one of your favourites?

I have a few minor gripes with some of the stylistic changes Reignited made, such as the Gnorcs in Twilight Harbor no longer using real guns, bosses being rebalanced in terms of difficulty, etc. Other than that, it is fairly solid.

Yeah those are the changes I am talking about.

Once I replay both games side by side I will make a list of changes that I have found.

Imo, it cannot be called a remaster atp. It us a remake since content has been changed.

Them improving the control scheme was nice though.

At least they kept the mooning Gnorcs in Peace Keepers. I would have boycotted the game otherwise. :feelsree:

Definitely looking forward to reading that list. Spyro is one of my childhood games and it feels good to encounter a brocel who cares about the franchise as much as I do.

The control scheme, being able to use Sparx to find that one missing gem...Even the non-Spyro characters in 3 feel a lot better to play as this time around. In terms of aesthetic changes, I did enjoy how much personality they added to the dragons you rescue in 1.

I still remember some changes that I have immediately noticed.

Even though I am colorblind, I too have noticed that Spyro's coloring is different, as well as the sky box.
The old skybox I liked more. It gave the whole game a dreamy atmosphere.

From what I have noticed the controls in that skateboard level are better / easier / more forgiving. Might just be an illusion.

Spyro is a tad bit glitchy when being moved. I have this feeling that he slips ever so slightly, but it not game breaking for me.

The real guns being replaced for water guns was also a bummer for me. Trying to make it child friendlier and all but at the same time the game has way too many militaristic undertones and besides, in Peace Keepers real canon balls are being fired. lol

I have no idea whether Sparx could be used to find hard to find gems in the originals.
I have noticed it by accident. There was a written hint for this, but I've barely paid attention to those.
I guess it's good for lazy people. I have always enjoyed the hunt / search for those gems. It made me appreciate the level design that much more and also learn the levels in and out. It's forced you to go everywhere, EVERYWHERE, and absolutely try everything.
Spyro fans will love this, regular gamers will be frustrated easily.
But I have to admit that with all that grass in some level it is INCREDIBLY hard for me to spot gems because of my color blindness.
Only because of this have I had to use the Sparx cheat sporadically. In the original that was never an issue.

Two cutscenes I also remember being altered or enhanced.
The first one is the skeleton dancing after you collect all of the bones. Hey have added this STUPID floss "dance" in the remaster.
It is such a braindead zoomer thing... . I was very upset seeing this shit in my beloved game. And it does no even fit the other iconic dance moves which the skeleton makes.

The second cutscene where I have noticed changes was with Hunter and one of the female characters.
Even in the original it had feminist, girl boss undertones, but they have made sure to amp it up a lot in the remaster. I think this happened in the third game. I will play them again and make sure.
It was so bad that it has left a lasting veru bad taste in my mouth. Something I did not expect them to pull in the last moment, so to speak.

Other than that, yeah, I am a Spyro fan, but I doubt that I am a huge Spyro fan.

I would like to play other Spyro games, but have no idea which of the other releases are worth it.
I guess I will have to try them all out and see for myself. That is usually the best course of action.

I also want to get myself that Spyro figure where you can ignite some good smelling thingy and put it inside and the smoke will come out of his nostrils.

Would look good on my table.
