Seems like a pretty good cope tbh, I like the way they describe the movements and strikes in detail. Although admittedly I can only read the translations, unless they're originally written in middle-early modern English, but almost all of them are in German or Italian(over for burgercels).

"He is a brave man who fights his own weaknesses. It is no shame to flee when four or six (foes) are at hand. Do not strike at the sword but wait for the openings."

no bro but maybe i will try it

no man dont have the attention span for that :feelsrope:

no bro, but I have read some books about crusades

[Autism] indeed

No bro, cant relate.

You'd be surprised how infrequently these treatises are useful for writing fight scenes. Since you're going for a breakneck pace to keep a tense mood, you need to be sparse with your details and trust the reader to fill in the fine details. If you belabor the footwork, guards, feints, ripostes, et cetera, you give off the impression that your entire fight is happening in slow motion.

The artwork is nice though.

Yea it's pretty cool. I looked at musashi's writing a bit and it's similar. I have never practiced any swordfencing, but it is sort of the cornerstone of the martial arts of yore. It is fun to play with a knife or a stick or whatever though.

The book of five rings...
It's very good book.

I watch sword fencing videos on YouTube. Skallagrim and metatron and scholira gladiatoria (sp?) And that English guy. Good stuff.

I only watch the training stuff not the hema stuff.

I watch scholagladiatoria

no but i will now :feelswhere:
thanks for sharing

I've been interested in HEMA (Historical European Martial Arts) for a while tbh. Altough I'm too poor to buy a sword. :cryfeels:
