Yeah I'm feeling really hopeful about these new games I'm seeing from places like China!
I'm not really into anime for some reason but... these new Asian games are starting to look pretty sweet!
Tbh, even the Japanese have been cucking out lately. Chinks instead don't seem to give a fuck.
It's concerning when you think about it how many Japanese games and companies are basically going woke.
Not all of them but... quite a few.
They're trying to appeal to the western market. They think everyone here likes woke shit.

Japanese games are going downhill in quality while Chink and Korean games are going from non existent to pretty good quality.

From new games so far only Stellar Blade and Lies of P, they had a lot of cool old ass mmorgps like mu online/lineage and Dekaron or Vindictus (new version is in making), maybe that Crimson Desert will be good we will see. And for other games i dunno a lot of them will be releasing in the following year or two.Oh and I know chinese games are improving but which korean ones are good atm?
I guess until Blackrock or whoever invests over there too.

RPGs... hm. Sometimes.
lies of p is a soulslike not hack n slash and tbh better than most of soulslike it adds tweaks to the combat which makes genre more fun
But Dark Souls is a hack n slash...
not really i count fast paced games as hack n slash dark souls have lot of variety in weapons and playstyles you can play like gandalf if you want

Yeah erm... I guess I see it that way because weapons-based melee combat is so core to the experience of those games, at least for most players. I'm not really using "hack n slash" in a critical way... just that that's the action when you're using a sword or axe or something to attack enemies!
I remember years back I was playing Fear 2 and Metal Gear Rising Revengeance and even though I liked Revengeance in many ways, that was when I decided that that type of combat wasn't really my thing.
That being said I think some games do it particularly well - the combat in Wind Waker I think is great ^_^

I guess there's a lot of truth to this idea that the main Japanese games that are woke are the ones that are designed for the Western market. A lot of their stuff has always been designed for that market. Sonic was, I think Resident Evil was, etc.
So I guess it's logical that that kind of entertainment would go woke if it wants success over here (good reviews from journalists and whatever else).
I'm not sure about their more Japan-first entertainment though? I'll have to look into that!

Capcom and Sega had obviously a lot of games targeting westerners those two are the most obvious you can't forget about Silent Hill, Devil May Cry, Metal Gear Solid.
There are other devs like for example Atlus games that were never made with westerners in mind at least till Persona 5 and especially Metaphor (commie and open border propaganda). Same can be said about Square Enix they are flopping badly with their titles since they chase modern audience and once remake cashcow disappears so do Square. Yakuza games since 0 were all more focused on western market but also not pissing completely at their original fans (if only Atlus would be so nice) so it's not black or white it all depends on the dev - best example is Bandai they are funding and publishing so many games that they are not focusing any particular group of buyers, if western shit flops they will shut down the company like woke trash of Unknown 9.
It's odd how over time... at least in my case I'm gradually getting more and more tired of woke games. It's like the longer it goes on, the harder it is to keep tolerating it.
I'm glad that at least some stuff coming out of Japan is still OK.
I really do need normalcy in my games again and to not be treated like there's something wrong or immoral about me just because I'm a guy. It gets old pretty quickly.
