Who doesn't count an Olympic bar - 45 lbs? I didn't when I was a kid. Once. I had bench pressed with a 10 lb bar and didn't count it - just the weights. So I find myself in a gym and put the weights on. I think I was around 8 so I wasn't exactly benching a lot to begin with. So what I had on was maybe twice as much with the bar included. Fortunately I couldn't even lift it off the rack so I just hurt my confidence and felt puzzled until someone said the bar itself weighs 45 lbs.
