Female nature always remains the same. Just in previous centuries they were restricted in many fields ( such as voting rights, high education, owning a property etc ).
After WW1 and especially WW2 they gained much more freedoms and abilities than in the past.

For example, in the past prostitution was very widespread because many women didn't had any other sources of income. Now in some city you can search for escorts and prostitutes online and find only <10 of them while in previous centuries there were probably hundreds and even thousands prostitutes in said city.
The same is about marriage. Women don't have motivation for marriage because big daddy government is always ready to help.
