Life is anti-life. The idea that one forsakes life is foolish to me, when it was the universe that did it first. I'm destined to age and die due to no fault of my own and cease to exist. I don't think it's moral to bring someone into such a futile, meaningless existence. You're also supposing that I'm anti-life in relation to my life. I am not. Antinatalism is just against the creation of new life, not forsaking one's own.

It's not about "forsaking one's own life", it's about denying the most fundamental impulse of the human experience. Only an extremely wounded soul would think exterminating all life is "good". Its projection of your own misery onto the universe, clothed in the form of utilitarian calculus.

Denying yourself of biological drive = declining mental health

Sure you can cope with things like friends, sports hobbies work etc, but if your peers are having children and you're the only one who isn't, it won't be enough

I do occasionally ponder whether life as a phenomena is valuable at all, considering that life started on this planet ~4 billion years ago. Imagine all the trillions of organisms that have had to suffer from pain, be eaten alive just to feed other organisms just for them to keep staying alive, and all the trillions of organisms that had to die from sicknesses and old age, whatever. Antinatalism might be an edgy angle to take but its hard to see faults within it.

Absolutely, I'm shocked that it's not more of a consensus here. The world is inextricably evil to levels of which I'm not sure we're even capable of grasping. It's shocking how anyone looked around themselves and thought bringing life into existence was anything other than a grave evil. It's always better to have never been.
