I've always been a lander: Somaliland was a functioning democratic state while Somalia was a failed state ruled by terrorist groups and regional militant clans.

...But I'm doubtful now, it's safe to say that Israel hijacked the lander independence movement in order to further it's own political aspirations by securing Muslim allies in the region. And the fact that the Somalilanders have, instead of continuing to condemn the evil of Israel's actions against the Palestinian people, they've turned their back on their own moral principles for their own benefit and in doing so have completely destroyed all of the goodwill they'd built up as well as the favour of people like myself.

It doesn't seem likely that the USA under Republicans will recognise Somaliland as a nation any time soon and if the Democrats win in 2028 (which they will), they most certainly won't recognise Somaliland.
