I had to start at 17, because my eyesight got bad because of too much screentime.

What about spending more time indoors, I've heard that can change your eye shape since you're not having to focus on distant objects.

I looked like a dork in them and I hated the sensation of having them on my ears and nose. I would often take them off at school, just to avoid looking an idiot. This ended up backfiring as I would constantly squint at the board to read things on it. This would attract the attention of the other kids and teachers, who made fun of me for it. It didn't help I am hapacel with the classic Asian eyes. (Monolids and all) My eyes would be almost shut, and I would look like the City Wok guy from South Park.

I switched over to contacts when I was 14. I want to get LASIK soon before all this screen time completely destroys my vision. Granted my shit genetics also guaranteed it as well.

Myopia seems to run in my family, as everyone including both parents wear glasses or contacts. My dad doesn't only because he had to get LASIK for his job.
