The reason I ask this highly specific question is because finasteride is known to deplete neurosteroid concentrations in the brain -- particularly allopregnanolone, which is crucial to the functioning of GABA receptors.
And GABA is impaired in autism in the first place! This is why autists like me experience rather drastic personality changes when taking substances which increase GABA (e.g. phenibut, bromantane). Namely, it results in the lowering of inhibitions.
So it would seem as though finasteride is sure to have the opposite effect (the heightening of already high inhibitions).
And indeed, there is evidence that low allopregnanolone levels are associated with increased retardation in autism:
And this is not even to speak of likely sexual side effects from finasteride, given that DHT increases libido and nitric oxide release.
So fellow autists, have you tried finasteride and how did it go? Did it make you more retarded and impotent?

Association of serum allopregnanolone with restricted and repetitive behaviors in adult males with autism - PubMed
Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) has been associated with imbalance between excitatory and inhibitory (E/I) neurotransmission systems, as well as with neuroinflammation. Sitting at the crossroads between E/I imbalance and neuroinflammation is a class of endogenous hormones known as neurosteroids...

Taken together, our findings demonstrate that in adult males with ASD, decreased serum allopregnanolone levels are associated with more severe restricted and repetitive behaviors and with less insight into the severity of these behaviors.
Autism spectrum disorder risk linked to insufficient placental steroid - Neuroscience News
When the hormone allopregnanolone (ALLO) abruptly decreases or stops during pregnancy, children are more likely to develop autism. Researchers report a single ALLO injection during pregnancy can avert the brain abnormalities and social behaviors associated with ASD in experimental mouse models...

A study in experimental models suggests that allopregnanolone, one of many hormones produced by the placenta during pregnancy, is so essential to normal fetal brain development that when provision of that hormone decreases or stops abruptly – as occurs with premature birth – offspring are more likely to develop autism-like behaviors
