I want to clarify that for me, many Italians are white; you don't have to be blond or have gray eyes to be white. That said, I also feel unable to defend a southern Italian who has brown eyes, black hair (not even brown) and is “supposedly”tanned from the summer sun

For Italians, zero of those apply, as do zero of them apply to any other native Europeans, because all native Europeans are white. That's how simple it is.

I don't see many Germanic-looking people on the street.

99% of the blond, blue-eyed people in Argentina are either of Russian/Slav descent or Northern Italians with the blood of the invading Goths.
