Are gangsters and thugs the same thing?

People either condemn thugs i.e. "those no good thugs" or respect/glorify them "THUG LIFE" but gangster seems to be a more neutral term which refers to a member of a criminal organization.

Are "thug" and "gangster" interchangeable?

Thugs - stupid niggers/spics/wiggers who think they're cool. They're soft, but they think their tattoos and loud rap music make them badass. They're too scared to kill anyone, but they probably will eventually, somehow.

Gangsters - understands economics, markets, and knows how to extort money. Mindset solely based solely off profits and rigging the system. Dark triad personality, and possibly psychopathic. Loyalty is always first, they will kill anyone they have to, in order to get their way.
