I play a lot of RPGs namely Fallout, Kenshi, modded STALKER and TES. When I play these games I truly enjoy changing up the kind of character and build I make. But I also get very immersed into the character as well. Such as saying voice lines I think they would say, or cool one liners whenever I do something. For example, if I'm LARPing as a sort of Vietnam Vet-like character and I kill an Asian NPC, I would go "GUESS YOU COULD SAY THE GOOK IS COOKED!" This is a small cope but it helps me a fair bit, it also makes me feel less lonely when I imagine that there's a small twitch chat watching and commenting on what I do as well. I don't have any friends so this is a good cope.

Does anyone else do something similar when they play games like this?

Sometimes in STALKER but not very much in other rpg games. I like playing them but can't get fully immersed as you do.

I don't game as much as I once did, but you play those games exactly how they are supposed to be played. Godspeed brocel.

I wish I could immerse myself in games like this, I just play mindlessly until I'm bored

I do exactly the same thing, and I always imagine myself as the main character. I just don't like characters who don't have any lines in other words, who lack charisma.
Another thing I like about RPGs is that our character progresses along with the story and gets stronger as it goes on until the end something other games fall short on, in my opinion.

I made myself a giga chad in oblivion

Yeah I love to do those things, especially when the game allows me to create a background story for the character and if it doesn't I just create it in my head and act it out. Last time I had fun like that was Wasteland 3 and ATOM RPG though, I wonder if there are any new games as cool as those two.

I do so in FPS war games
