I loved the 1800's. I would give anything to be there.
All my grandparents grew up in the 1800's.
I knew so many people, who lived in the 1800's. They are long gone now.
People were so much better back then.
I would love to see a Wild Wild West Town.
I love the scenery in Old West Movies.
No cars back then, no phones, No TV.
Men were men. They drove horses, not cars.
I'd rather step in horse s--t than breathe car fumes.
All food was organic.
Music was much better - especially on a hand cranked phonograph.
Movies on a hand cranked projector.
Anyone else here miss the 1800's?

I don't want to live without the internet.

i can't miss what i've never experienced

I lived with out it all through the 1970's - mid 1990's.

Same. Although just the 90s. That's part of the reason why I'm copemaxxed. I know there's no way you can be bored on the internet after experiencing life without it.

I am against romanticizing the often naturally more cruel past, but some aspects were better, yes. People were just people though as well.

Best case would be some hybrid scenario in the future. Insight that consumerism leads to nothing, but we keep the useful tech and everyone works a bit less.

But won't happen the elite needs our workforce and to sell us bullcrap.

As a historycel I'd like to timetravel anyway.

Most tech is better today (sometimes not well designed though).

Material culture sucks though. To much plastics.

I think you should try to broaden your view. Cultural conservatism out of principle leads to blindness. But you now that probably yourself and this is just the nostalgia speaking out of you.

The 1800 were tbh already the moment were things went the wrong turn. Society didn't keep up with enlightment views and neoreactionary elite of aristocracy (less in the USA) and capital owners enforced nationalism etc. to make people stop to pursuit the path of freedom and global friendship.

I miss the days when humans didn't exist and everyone was just a dinosaur. those days were way better
