I did some research and apparently his parents were delusional and believed their son was some kind of supernatural Jesus-like being. His superhuman intelligence including his IQ was fake for the most part, although his was still very smart nonetheless. Make sense when you think about it. People with low IQs can be very overwhelmed by what life throws at them and struggle to find solutions, so they opt for the easy way out. People with high IQs, on the other hand, revel in problem solving and feel compelled to come out on top no matter what.

Damn...that explains a lot. The thought of having to live up to extremely high expectations sounds horrifying. This is one of those times where I feel I have to "count my blessings" because this is a problem i never had to experience. My parents knew I was low IQ. I remember in high school I had delusions that I could become a programmer or something and both of my parents were realistic enough to dump cold water on that. My mother said I was going to be "working with my hands" and my father said I'd be better suited for assembly line work. Of course that was boomer advice due to automation and outsourcing, but the general spirit was directionally correct.
I've known some people who had mediocre or sub-par IQs who had parents with extremely high expectations and some of their parents were straight up abusive towards them. It's like they thought if they just "raised their kids right" and did the "tiger parent" thing, their kids would become doctors and lawyers despite them having average or below average IQs themselves, with lower class jobs. Then when that doesn't happen (because genetic determinism is a thing) they end up enraged and lashing out on their kids, sometimes violently.
