I have been a staunch anti-natalist for years now, and I have yet to see any decent arguments against it that aren't based on misinterpretations of the philosophy or don't use purely emotional/religious reasoning. For religious people they believe that even if life has suffering they must push through to obey God and then be rewarded with heaven after they die.
Since most people are religious then this is their reason to existence. Giving birth to a child gives that child a chance to go to heaven.

I think that it is incorrect to attempt to weigh the whole of existence as a mere balance of pros and cons. For one, this is all subjective, and it is up to everyone to decide for themselves what is worth it, and what is not. Secondly, existence is its own reward, even if one exists just to suffer, just the fact that one gets to actually exist, rather than not exist, is of such a huge significance to me that it is incomprehensible to me that anything could balance it out. Thirdly you are wrong to attempt to tally the whole of life experience like some sort of excel spreadsheet, it might very well be that an abused slave, at the end of his life, observes one last sunset, and that one moment will make the whole thing worth it. Fourthly the fact of the matter is that all suffering is self-inflicted, and any sufficiently advanced being might just choose not to suffer.
