Based on what I've seen, it seems as though there are basically only 3 possible outcomes for a society, since male and female mating strategies contradict each other.

1. Women are slaves to men
2. Men and women form sexless marriages
3. Humans revert to being animals (out in the 'wild' males compete to impress females, only the best have sex), eventual societal collapse
