I hated how quickly the "revenge" aspect of the story concluded and how reliant it became on the misunderstanding trope.

Dude gets brutally rejected by some cunt and and justifiably wants to take revenge which makes you root for him but then the little cuck has no spine or balls and ends up just simping for her so she literally never gets any consequences for her actions and she just gets away with it. Takes all the catharsis away that you would get from seeing karma do its job. I couldn’t even get half way through it but I’ve heard things about it that sound terrible

So the main premise was that they were childhood friends and then she called him a piggy and wanted him gone. Well turns out it was not her but someone disguised as her, so that's why the "revenge" turned out to be a misunderstanding.

Tbh the second season is way better than the first, as a romantic comedy. Still if you were looking for revenge you won't find it, it never happens. What's more someone comes and tries to pick up the girl by saying that they were the fat child from back then, and masamune is like "mf that's literally me".
