So this is what I like to call parasocialmaxxing: a way to socially/economically advance through being a twitch streamer, gathering fans and getting money off them. It can work for cels who are sub5 because you don’t have to use a facecam to stream.
I have a few ideas on the twitch meta/how to get big as a streamer. I think I’ve figured a lot of stuff out in terms of:
- crafting the right persona
- finding the right games for your style of content
- getting people to give you donations
There’s a huge power vacuum in terms of the streaming space right now. Wanna know why? the big minecraft streamers (who hugely took advantage of parasocial relationships a few years ago, and gained millions of followers/dollars) don’t stream much at all anymore.
So what does this mean?
They’re replaceable.
If incels play their cards right they can be the next big thing. here’s how;
- first things first you actually have to know how to play a game. It can be any game I guess you just can’t be shit at literally every game and expect anyone to like watching you lol.
- know your audience. For the sake of simplicity, let’s assume you become a minecraft streamer. The minecraft community in particular has so much parasocialism in it it’s crazy lol. People are willing to throw money at any “comfort streamer” if they like them enough.
So how do you get them to like you?
- know your assets/attributes. What archetype do you best fit into, appearance/personality wise? It doesn’t really matter much what personality you actually have cause you can fake it (everyone on twitch does lol), but because lookism is very much real your looks will matter quite a bit, unfortunately. That’s not to say you *have* to be ‘conventionally good looking’, but you have to look distinct. Memorable. This advice does not apply if you choose not to stream with a facecam (but you will have to have a pleasant voice at least.)
Picking the right channel name and visual aesthetic is probably *the* most important first step. Especially the name, it’s crucial.
• Here is something that the majority of large content creators have in common: they go by usernames which are typically short, easy to pronounce, easy to remember, and don’t contain lots of numbers.
You don’t have to have a very fancy channel aesthetic to appeal to people. In fact, it’s likely better if you don’t.
It’s a bit hard to explain but basically when it comes to the ‘brand design’ of your channel you emulate something like Apple or Mcdonalds, meaning they should be pretty simple designs and not too many colours or small details (minimalist). This ties into the aspect of memorability which is important to all aspects of a channels “vibe” more or less.
Good ideas of what you can do for your profile picture/channel header:
- A picture of yourself (if you’re comfortable having your face out there.) It should be either a good picture (as in good image quality and generally flattering) or a comedically “bad” one.
- a minimalist style logo with distinct colour scheme
- a drawing of your avatar/character to represent your streamer persona: either an actually good one (if you can draw or get a commission) or a purposefully shitty doodle one.
