This takes place in southern Utah, 1857. Yes, there were foreign settlers at the time, and there were some French Canadian trappers, but they were few in number. The series depicts based ultrareligious Mormon settlers, White settlers from the eastern states, and Native American tribes. All three are depicted as brutal in their own way, but none of them appear to rape - except the French guys, which were few in number. If the producers really wanted to insert an arc where a foid gets raped by "scary" non-English speaking foreigners, they could've gone with the more realistic route - a band of Mexicans, which were far more plentiful than French, but you would have the woke people calling themselves "Latinx" screaming
