The solution is to make the USA even more federal and limit the power of the national government. The national government shouldn't take any decisions that have to do with education or healthcare, each state should do those things by its own with independence. Each state should deal with its own taxes and its own problems independently. Each state should have its own ministries, institutions, branches of power, etc.

The national government should ONLY worry about defense, agreements between states, safety, foreign policy and other extremely basic things. Basically, the USA should become something similar to the European Union. It's the only way to guarantee everyone is satisfied, each state has completely different necessities and that's why the country should be more federal. The fact your life can change because of what people in a state FAAAAR AWAY from yours voted for is crazy.

What do you think about this?

America needs to be balkanized

China is way biggER and yet they have a much more consensus view ln things

True, the Fed gov. needs to be neutered of all its current power and needs to return to pre-1861 conditions

Nah, America needs to be federalized in a way it doesn't lose too much power. They should become an extreme confederation like Switzerland.

The US was a true federation before the Civil War. Since then, it has become increasingly more centralized around Washington

Also need to restrict one state's ability to screw with the other.

Just because California wants to be a shithole does not mean it should get the power to force other states to follow in its lunacy

Agree. That's why I think if a state wants to have free healthcare or good education they should work on it themselves, and then people would see what states are successful and what states aren't and hopefully they would learn from that.

There's another problem though: there will always exist people who are convinced they know what's best for everyone, I never assume I know exactly what other people need and that's why I think each person should solve their problems though individual responsibility, but leftists are so fucking arrogant that they will want to create stupid solutions and ideologies and IMPOSE them onto us.

Race War now.

You’re right and this is why the Republicans will always have a shot, and won big last night. Dems’ entire platform is to force policies on those who don’t want them and then act surprised when people vote for Repubs who favor decentralization.

If people in California don't want Texas politics to affect their lives, they should accept people in Texas don't want Californians to affect their lives either, that's the only way states can have a healthy relationship between each other despite their differences.

None of both parties support decentralization as much as they should, which isn't surprising, corrupt politicians benefit from excuses to centralize political and economical power.

America is a multiethnic state and is therefore doomed to fail eventually. That's why there is so much infighting. It's easy to play pretend that we're all the same and that we can just live in this country together singing Kumbaya when everyone is well fed, but when shit gets real, people will very quickly forget about all of that and will align themselves with those that are most similar to them out of a primal instinct for survival.
America will be balkanized

Laughs in Russia China

America takes pride in it's democracy.

Then Americans complain when home prices are way too high lol

If a strong central government came in to subsidize more homes then we wouldn't have this problem. Instead in a democracy, we have to hear different voices before acting. And often times when action is done it only benefits a certain segment of the population and not the whole society.

I do not agree!

As Churchill said: "democracy is the worst system, except for all the others". However, this democracy should have limits, if people in Israel vote that all Palestinians should be exterminated, that shouldn't happen, even if that's what the people want, democracy shouldn't become the tyranny of the majorities, there should be things the people are NOT allowed to choose.

People in dictatorships like China could seem happier, but that's only because they aren't allowed to complain too much and they adapt by becoming conformists.
