Well what changed is that I now do not feel as if I have to rope due to my height.

No because other traits such as social intelligence, ambition and IQ might be valued higher than height which would explain why a 5'1 dude still only has 25 % lower chance than a 6'3 dude.
Height is simply not a priority in the grand scheme of things which would explain the smaller effect.

Social status is key and there are numerous ways of achieving that, Height and Facial attractiveness being one.
But other things could be lack of fear, being fun, etc (which still is how you're brain works, so there's not like you can do anything about it).
The studies say that the negative impact is 25 %, I've done my work if you believe the reality is different, please show me studies, not just cherry picked samples.
