It's not "cope" to want to improve your society and to want the best for it, especially when those improvements would ultimately benefit you and your romantic/sexual prospects too.
Also, most people involved in politics are not incels. And even if they were, should all the men pull out in that case and leave politics to the women? It just makes no sense no matter how you look at it.
Politics matter and the future of society matters.
By all means though always remember to improve your own life too, as focusing too much on politics can indeed lead to a lack of time spent on your own affairs, but then that is true for any interest that can potentially occupy a lot of your time.
I guess the important thing here is balance
