I read a book long time ago from a French Author, former PUA. He was describing categories of men, mostly discerning them by their main strategy to have sex. A prominent category was what he called "women's friend". It's basically guys who befriend women, hiding any sexual interest at first only to admit it after a long while, once the female has earned his trust and has become relatively close.

Coincidently, I witnessed that kind of behavior IRL, and I found it quite despicable. The guy had some success with a below average female and I guess he was embolden because I then witnessed him trying to do the same with a 8/10 female coworker of his. I could see the disgust on the female face, I don't think I was wrong in reading that expression : I now have a hard time believing that most women can't see these guys coming from a mile away and find them creepy AF.

But I guess some are oblivious, as was the author of this reddit post apparently.

Yeah its good that he got to the point unlike other guys, but he obviously spent all that time with her because he was sexually/romantically interested in her but he couldnt tell that the feeling was not reciprocated. I saw it more like since he said he never knew the foid had that side of her that he thought she was not going to talk about sexually explicit things or about hot guys in their conversations. When he saw that she did he wondered why if she is open to hooking up why she doesn't hook up with them since they hang out a lot and get along well.
She told him flat out it's because he wasn't attractive and he got shocked by this and said whatever came to his mind without really thinking and as it came to him. That would explain why he said more things to her over the course of the night and kept bringing up the issue.

But unlike the people on reddit I'm trying to see it from the guy's point of view. The mistake he made in the first place was being friends with a foid as a straight male and thinking that if he is friends with a foid she won't bring up hot guys or her sex life and he'll be able to see her in a purely platonic sense imo.
