That's really all it takes because this this guy was a multimillonaire and when it came time paddock realised that he had everything ,stuff a gf but there was a day he realised the reality: that he really had nothing on the inside he coped with items and riches and plane trips to japan all his life because his physcological need to feel loved was not there he worked hard in life only to see that he was unfurfilled at the end the day, and and top of that he was on a losing streak the things he was coping with came crashing down and his gf wasn't even a real women she used him for money and he knew it was all true,(based off the fact he visited hookers)his life was coming to an end and he needed to the notoriety to leave this world the soul that was suffering only wanted to be remembered. All it takes is one bad day to reduce the sanest man alive to lunacy

Given the amount of preparation, it was clearly more than one day, it actually took him days to get all the guns and ammo in his room. This guy planned it weeks ahead.

As someone who once "snapped" long ago (I tried to strange the school bully with a cable), this is not what loosing it once looks like, this kind of premeditation needs weeks if not a couple months to develop, it takes a lot to decide that you'll become a murderer and not change your opinion after one week.
