If they managed to get to earth that would mean they are more advanced and smarter then us. (This means they could do stuff we couldn't think of upon discovering us) but assuming they took the same precautions humans do they would first observe us to find out if we are hostile or not before attempting to communicate with us via radio waves or something. As they would most definitely have their own language. (This is just what I think of the matter. It all depends on how the alien species behaves)
To kill the entire human race and leave a beautiful planet behind will be next to impossible as there will be man made structures everywhere and remains of the attack that wiped man kind
Yeah, they would be way more advanced than us. I always thought they would view us as primitive, violent, etc. Either indifferent or study us or something.
Keep in mind that there may be more options that they have and we can't think of as they would be more evolved then us (like the possibility that they may farm us like we do cattle. Nobody tends to think of that)

I have bad news for Alien believers. It's highly unlikely any alien races are even aware of human life. The speed of light is just so slow, the earliest and weakest radio signals have only travelled 100 light years or so. Our galaxy is 105,000 light years in diameter, so only a small fraction of the galaxy would even be aware of Earth having intelligent life. It'll take up to about 70,000 years for the whole galaxy to be aware of us, and it would take the same amount of time to send any signal or lightspeed vessel back to Earth.
So unless Aliens have invented faster than light travel and communications, then they ain't coming to Earth anytime soon. Plus, if they have the means to make round trips to and from Earth then the chances are they also don't require any of Earths resources. They would already probably have the ability to terraform planets and harvest resources from any rocky planet.
