It's so odd here in the UK at least because you can have sex at 16 but send one nude photo and that image is very much illegal.

I don't know what the law says about sex chat. I think you'd probably be OK but I have no idea.

The obvious issue here is that that traps people who assume they're within the law but they're not.

This is why I tend to say I think the age of consent should be 18 just so people don't get stung in this way.

EDIT -- That issue aside I think 16 is probably fine but any younger is a bit much.
