POLICE Scotland have issued a statement addressing a racist banner which has gone viral after being displayed in a Scottish city.
Following posts on social media, officers have opened a probe into a banner which was spotted on the outskirts of Aberdeen.
The banner, reportedly displayed near a school, states: "Aberdeen declares total n***** death".
It is unclear who created or put up the banner, with an investigation now underway to determine the facts.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “On Monday, February 16 officers in Aberdeen were made aware of a sign containing racist material in the West North Street area of Aberdeen.
“The sign has now been removed and enquiries are ongoing to establish who is responsible for putting it there.
“Anyone with information should contact police via 101 and quote incident number 0618 of February 16, 2026.”
The post on Twitter/X which calls for users to share the image and "find the culprit" now has almost one million views.This was spotted near a school in Aberdeen.
This is appalling and cowardly from far-right scum.
