You can buy one of those rubber mannequins and practice aiming power punches at the chin/jaw. Overhand rights or straight crosses preferably while putting your body into it.

If that alone doesn't give you the confidence to stick up for yourself, learn to grapple at those mma/jiu jitsu gyms. Judo is great too.
