I try to stay away from IG, it's really just an advertising platform targeted at millenials and younger genXers. It looks just like a fashion magazine or men's magazines. Lots of glossy pictures filled with product placement paired with a few, meaningless words (advertising copy - even when the post is not sponsored). IG really destroyed any borders that were left between commerce and content - it's all one thing now.
The crazy thing is that normies on some level still believe that the people they are watching are 'real' and the events displayed are 'real', and thus feel brutally lifemogged. As evidenced by multiple studies. And to compensate they try to imitate the glamour photos, down to the last details. Strange creatures.
