My guess is that this user is ignorant but people on here, including myself, have mentioned many times that getting a girlfriend will not fix your problems but only create new and different problems.

There are obviously some fallacies in this post. For one, the tone is condescending and the poster obviously thinks he is above us. Secondly, sex cannot be consumed in excess and is not icing on the cake, it is a basic need and quite arguably the purpose of life from a biological stand point so we are perfectly normal to want it. Thirdly, in my entire life, I have never heard of someone getting a girlfriend and then turning into a pedophile, that's a stupid argument.

So yeah I basically disagree with most of the post, but it's probably the most reasonable thing I've read on there so far.

Having a girlfriend will definitely fix a lot of problems that wouldn't be existing problems in the first place if women weren't treating us like shit, such as improving our self-worth, improving our social status (which goes a long way toward making a better life in the real world), getting rid of the crippling loneliness, getting rid of the feeling of complete and utter rejection, as all it takes is one person accepting you to make that provably false, it will get rid of skin hunger assuming it's not a sham of a relationship with a woman who just doesn't ever want to touch you in which case, why even continue to be in that "relationship" anymore, and more.

And sure, having a girlfriend might introduce new problems, but those are petty small-time problems that are easily dealt with if you've handled worse. And being incel is worse. Think about this: how many normans and holes, if they had to walk in our shoes, would be able to handle it as well as any of us do? And yet, they can handle the sorts of "problems" that arise in relationships. That tells me that one set of problems is clearly worse than the other. If we can handle inceldom, we can definitely handle whatever arises from being in a relationship.

Having a girlfriend would be trading in far worse problems to deal with for far lighter problems to deal with.

I disagree with this post mainly because if I at least had a girlfriend I would have some frame of reference as to what relationships and women are like. I can't move on from this mystery in life that is obviously common and all-consuming for 99% of people.

I often spend time with friends. I like to shoot pool at the bar, visit the zoo, do things like that. In fact, I've even had a foid remark that I "go out all the time". Going to the zoo does not get your dick wet (for most people).

No one can live your life or improve your life but you.

I understand how tempting and comforting this sentiment feels. "It is your responsibility because only you can fix it", but just isn't true. Words like this ignore the helping hands that were extended to you - yes, you, /u/heronerohero. At some point in one's life, you actually do need other people to hold the ladder, to give a break, to offer a mote of grace. Our lives are the way they are because this vital fertilizer was withheld in the spring, and now it's the end of summer and our crop is short. We aren't going to make it through the winter of our lives.
