Me neither. The reason I'm worked up over this is because it's absolutely absurd. Just think about it. Look at this as fully an outside observer in a general sense. Strip away the idea that you're a UK citizen where the FBI has no authority where you reside, and think about this abstractly. Culture honking and clowning is whatever, it's just a laugh. Federal authority honking and clowning is a travesty and a disaster. It sets terrible precedent for other governments and police forces around the world.

You call it bureaucratic budgeting, I call it being irresponsible and negatively affecting society. Look, there are definitely civil liberties issues associated with JTTFs, and Congress should definitely review FBI spending from time to time -- with an annual spend of $10 billion the agency has gotten a bit bloated.

But I don't think it was wrong for SDNY to bring charges against Kaufman, keep in mind that he was already having trouble complying with judicial orders at the state level.

Do a search on "fbi incel" and look at all of the hits you'll get. Propaganda outlets all reporting on the FBI's responses to the incel threat. If the media portrayal of the FBI's handling of "incels" was inaccurate, you would have the bureau's press liason communicating with journalists to make sure they're not misreporting.

Information gets packaged for media release by the bureau's media officer (or whatever the in-house title officially is) who then carefully selects what they (the media) learn about their cases (active and ongoing, or closed), which then gets published and you and I read about it.

They control the narrative through the reports they give to journalists and through spokespersons giving press briefings.

Clowning and honking is just a metaphor for allowing the status quo to further devolve and spiral into absurdity. Associating the term "incel" with "terrorist" doesn't seem absurd to you?
