A lot of these stories turn out to be completely false. The few stories that are not false overlook a serious trend: a combination of negative traits are the cause of inceldom for the most part.

If the negative traits outweigh the positive ones, you are likely to be sexless.

If the positive traits outweigh the negative ones, you are likely to be attractive.

Men are allowed to have quite unappealing faces as long as they are tall and neurotypical. Men are allowed to be quite short as long as they have appealing faces and neurotypical behaviors. Men are allowed to be quite neurodivergent as long as they are tall and good-looking.

The problem is refusing to address the main issue: a large amount of involuntary celibates possess traits that significantly outweigh any positive traits they might have.
