As Lord Gaben said, piracy is a service issue. If you wouldnt have to subscribe to 7+ different streaming services or pay a small fortune for buying anime on Blu Ray or DVD, then people wouldnt pirate as much

there is a reason most people dont pirate games, but most people pirate movies and series
i'm sure, i still pirate both anyways but i can see it being less needed on the gaming side a bit vs the movies and series side, at least with the gaming side its not quite as fragmented still have endless amounts of launchers to use though

99% of people buy their games on Steam, most other launchers are only installed because they are required to make games run (like Ubisoft and Rockstar Games) or because of free stuff (like Epic Games)
