Like any other form of media, a high percentage of anime is trash. But anime in particular is plagued by simping, white knight syndrome, putting women on a pedestal while humiliating men and many other kinds of blue pilled bullshit. And this is coming from a guy who wastes a lot of time playing the same sitcoms on repeat, either in the background or actively watching, so my tolerance to bluepilled media is high, anime is just excessively disgusting in this sense.

I can't believe I watched hundreds of series of anime and read a lot of manga in highschool and then even when I was at uni for a few years on and off. Nowadays I can at best get into a series of anime, watch a few episodes and then inevitably get repulsed by all the disgusting female worship and misandry.

Chinese light novels are much better in this regard, where the mighty protagonists use rape as a way to increase their power. Although there's a shitload of bluepilled thinking there too, it's inescapable. Every form of entertainment seems to be poisoned by bluepilled bullshit, maybe I should write blackpilled fiction if I ever muster the energy to do anything but rot in my bed.

TBH am kind of afraid this will be based for me, which could explain why I haven't leapt back into it like I used to be.

Finally someone thinks the same as me. All that is true, the only thing you could do is enjoy the anime seeing it as it is, science fiction (because no traditional, virgin and faithful Japanese will fall in love with you), you know what I mean. That's why you have to see it for what it is, and not as a real reflection of what could happen to you.
For example i see Spy x Family, and there is a "romanticism" in the main characters, and they are a family and blah blah. It should not be taken literally. Unless you're tall, blond and handsome like the protagonist Loid, then maybe it's another topic. But you have to see it for what it is, science fiction.
