A way of dealing with the tragedy is that I spent a lot of time reading/watching documentaries, discussing it online since it happened. I also spent time researching all the various conspiracy theories. I usually know more about the conspiracy than the people who parrot them to me.
I remember the first conspiracy I saw, it was a flash video called "Pentagon Strike". It briefly took me in, but as I did more research I found out a lot more and determined it was wrong.
Most conspiracy theorists watch a video and now they are experts on 9/11. They don't really keep up with the conspiracy. They haven't followed along with the years of evidence that has been released since the mid 2000s era of conspiracy videos coming out. For example in the Pentagon Strike video it is explained that the video of the hotel and a nearby gas station were confiscated by the fbi and never released. That was true when the Pentagon Strike video was released, but since then they released those videos and they don't show anything. Those two videos were released in 2005. But in 2020 people watch old conspiracy videos and say they haven't been released, when they have been for 15 years. They don't even bother to check. They've cashed in on the conspiracy and they believe. But not enough to bother to check on the current state of their claims.
