I'm 55, M, diagnosed at 13. never married, no kids, not especially un-handsome, not broke, have not been on a date since 2007 and its not for lack of being out in the wild and trying. I meet women all the time. Im always out doing karaoke. I go to Temple a couple times a month. Plenty of female co workers. I don't make any secret of the diabetes, so they know pretty early on why I'm always touching that "reader thingy" to the sensor on my arm. By now, I figure the diabetes has been a major, if not insurmountable, obstacle to being seen as a viable dating prospect my entire life. Women won't say this openly, but they want healthy, reliable men, and diabetes makes them think you're weak and your health is fragile. They'll howl about inclusion and equality, yet at the end of the day, they flat-out reject you for it no matter what kind of person you are, how you treat others, what your life ambitions are. You'd think being able to deal every day with something like this would score you points for being resourceful and strong. Nope. Tell them you have "the kind where you gotta take shots.". You'll be able to HEAR them go dry. Nobody wants to be around the needles and blood, two things most people have a great aversion towards. The real kick in the ass is not even women with type 1 will show interest. You'd think it'd be something you could talk about and bond over, join forces, but no. It sends them packing as well. I'm dying alone because of this disease.
Of course the replies are the usual bluepill slop.
