This is Israeli propaganda. The fact is the two closest Arab nations - Egypt and Jordan are dependent on US aid which is contingent on keeping out of any Israel-Palestine conflict. That's the only reason there hasn't been another Pan-Arab v. Israel war since the Camp David Accords. Even if they wanted to defy the US though, they would be wiped out by the US/Israel military in a matter of days. The US has already sent Ohio-class submarines to the Mediterranean Sea as an additional deterrent.

The real reason why Egypt never lets Palestinians to just come live in the Sinai desert is a good one on their behalf. If they let thousands of Palestinians in they would simply breed up another army greater than what Hamas is right now and carry out attacks on Israel which will allow Israel to have an excuse to invade Egypt, Egypt does not want that at all as it's already been screwed over by Israel many times and is economically worse off, another war with Israel would be devastating for them.
It's much cheaper and safer to send help to the Palestinians through the border crossings which they are currently doing so I wouldn't say it's a complete lost cause on their Arab brethren.
