Fires me

It took a lot of energy and time to bring in some wood from my wood pile (old cripple);, but at least tonight I'll be cozy...

Having a pleasant hot bev to help me get through the usual paranoia of my first fire of the season...

It's usually a stressful event since I only get a 6 hour burn per load...

Have to get back into the rhythm of it...wake up to pee, check fire. Let dog in/out, check fire. Repeat....

1st fire 24

Ofc, I got to build up my indoor woodpile to get ahead of my needs... Make sure its all dry and shit....

Seems late in the year to just now have your first fire.

enjoy your coffee

Thanks bro

It finally got cold enough here. I usually do it by expected daytime temps.

Otherwise I just open my doors in the daytime to let the cold inside air out and the outside heat in...

Your setup looks very nice, enjoy it

What type of wood are you using for the wood pile?

Been thinking of getting mesquite or oakwood to make a bonefire in my backyard

Oak. It's $80usd a rick (4'x8') it only takes a cord, to last me all winter... My woodstove is super efficient. It's a smoke reburner. Wood gassification with outside air intake. So my house doesn't suck in the cold air - that gets preheated - for the fire.

Ouu nice!

Unfortunately i live in a very hot place (south of the usa) and it never ever snows nor does it get that cold that i have to resort to a woodstove but they do seem so cozy though the coldest it gets here on average on a winter night is about 45 degrees the lowest its been would be 28 and it didnt snow it just froze any puddles of water and made the streets dangerous to drive in with black ice
