How the hell did he do it? I've not read any articles, so don't know if they give any clues. I know originally they said he needed an insider's help, but a supposed 17 year old kid? I guess it could be a friend who worked there who helped him, but it's definitrly not like he paid someone on the inside huge stacks of money as was originally postured

hes just a skid script kiddie that pretended to be a twitter employee (not sure on specifics) but essentially he just socially engineered twitter employees credentials, no advanced hacking was involved at all.

i agree but social engineering hardly even counts as hacking though this was just pure luck on his end, had those employees been educated on social engineering they probably could've avoided such a massive compromise.

Hope this chad-lite rots. Also, this “hack” happened by them literally just calling up a Twitter employee, probably a dumb foid, and just pretending to be from IT to get the employee’s credentials. They didn’t even cover their tracks.

Basically what happen was someone managed to get a twitter employee's account which obviously allows you into the employee panel which looks something like this. The original person who got into the employee account then posted on the forum if someone wanted to buy it.

The employee panel allows you to change/post anything on any twitter account. You can even read private dms.

This kid and 2 other people involved bought the stolen credentials of the twitter employee and just went crazy. Now they are all arrested and facing like 30 years in jail. JFL
