On March 24th 2022, Jordan DeMay, a 17 year old highschool student, committed suicide after getting scammed by 3 Nigerians. The story goes somewhat like this:

Jordan was a tall basketball/soccer player who had a gf, was well liked and considered good looking in his school. He and his girlfriend were planning to go on a vacation. He received a text from an alleged 19 year old college girl by the name of Dani Roberts, which actually ran by 3 Nigerians. Since they had access to the girl's Instagram pictures, they had a lot of images to choose from, making the bait believable. Jordan would spend time texting her, and even exchanging nudes, which prompted the scammers to threaten him with sending his nudes to everyone, from his family to his entire school with the only way to stop this is by giving them 1000$.
Jordan, who was also supposedly going to be elected for a new prom king, did not want to tank his reputation by having everyone see his exposed nudes. He grabbed a 9mm caliber gun and shot himself in his room. Beforehand, he texted his girlfriend and wrote down how much he loves his mother, before taking his father's gun, who was a cop and a hunter, and shooting himself with. His father, who was just exiting the toilet, thought his son just kicked something in his room, making go back to sleep.
The 3 scammers got sentenced to 17 years In prison. The whole thing is kinda sad, but also he shouldn't have attempted to cheat on her in the first place.
