15 June, 1998. Johan Croydon, age 48, was driving on the N18 Highway after his shift, back home - like any other day. Perhaps the last thing he wanted to see was an Audi swerving into his lane at 122 km/h. In a flash of blinding light, both cars collided with agonising shrieks of metal slicing metal. Croydon lost both legs in the accident and fractured his skull. Permanent brain damage was certain. His life, and that of his wife and two daughters would never be the same again.
