Yeah, men are expected not to show any sign of weakness and pain. Which is why I try to contain my emotions. They always expect us to be stoic. So much for thinking foids are the empathetic gender and be more understanding.
Yeah, Catalans are much closer to Fracne (especially Occitans) since their ancestors were Franks who were sent by Charlemagne in order to maintain a buffer with the Moorish invaders to keep them out of France. It was under of the Carolingians until the 12th century when they joined the Kingdom of Aragon.
Also, the Catalan language is a Gallo-Romance language not an Iberian Romance language, so it's more closer to French and Italian than it is to Spanish and Portuguese. It's a sister language to Occitan of southwestern France (and the culture over there is also different from the rest of France, it's more Mediterranean and closer to Spain's) which make it one of the langues d'oc.
And yeah, it seems like Catalonia is becoming like Québec in "Canada" when they want to force the rest of the country to go their way and to make citizens outside of them speak their language.
