Yeah the school I wanted to take lessons at using those and they're highly recommended on 4chan. Definitely get ahold of those.

We're all rivals in here.

You really think there's an unlimited supply of Nihonese waifus to go around?

This ironic especially as i am named after Keanu Reeves lmao

Are you going to be learning Hiragana and Katakana first, or Kanji first ?

The autism is real.

According to the website of the Japanese school I'm interested in you always master Hiragana first than move on to Katakana than Kanji.

I believe that is how Genki works as well since they use that as their textbook.

How do i say(in japanese):

-cope
-rope
-cope or rope
-go ER
-mcdaddies
-yeti
-it's over
-it never began

I want to so I can read their porn without it being translated :lul:

@Robtical I see you peeking this thread.

What has helped you in learning Japanese?

I am actually learning Japanese and I've gotten pretty good in about two years. I would honestly be fluent if I wasn't a lazy and retarded piece of shit.
For an idea of my level, I can read most Manga and a lot of fantasy works. I can also watch and understand most anime, but I miss key plot points if there is vocab I don't understand (like some of the technical terms in Death Note).

I wouldn't recommend doing normal vocab decks. It's easy to just do Sentence Flashcards. You don't even need to study grammar is you constantly do a Sentence Deck.

I also used Rikasama with Firefox so I could easily hover over Kanji and get the translation. Now I actually have a Japanese Dictionary definition pop up instead of an English one.

Watching anime is also a good tool. Just turn off the subtitles since those are cope.

I wouldn't recommend using grammar guides or anything. They're too slow. I used some "Learning Japanese with manga" book, but it was super gay and I got bored.

This is why I learned and it's honestly the greatest decision I ever made.

Just jerked off to this doujinshi yesterday that was just released. No need to wait for (usually shitty) translations. There are tons of fetish material untranslated too, which is good if you're a degenerate like me.

Go to exhentai or whatever site you use, and just marvel at how much is untranslated. There is tons of good stuff in there that will never be translated. That alone is worth learning Japanese.

Wish I could but I have to learn privately as the time for the course would have interfered with my major classes and it's only available in the fall and I graduate next fall.

Can't afford to wait another year. I'm leaving in June. Everyday counts.

I really need to limit my posting here and lock myself in this thread to keep me motivated.

Op what about your accent though ? Do you speak well you should post your voice to get our oppinions on your accent.

Same tbh. But realistically I'm too lazy to even try.
I read all day but the dedication to learn Japanese is daunting to say the least

Yes I speak very well, I can sing J-Pop songs easily reading romaji.

For a native English speaker Japanese is the easiest foreign language in the world to pronounce.

wow i should better start my moneymaxing and thugmaxing too

Moneymaxxing is legit but thugmaxxing won't do anything for you in Japan.

What has helped you?

Great we all should join it.

I have Genki pdf and audio files if anyone is interested.

@Robtical I see you peeking this thread.

What has helped you in learning Japanese?
My interest in anime and japan was what helped me keep getting motivated to study. But later when we were forced to learn a complicated alphabet called kanji I started losing interest and it wasn't fun anymore. I think I would be able to speak japanese by now if I just focused on learning the language and didn't get side tracked with anything else. As long as it stays fun and you're motivated then you'll have an easy time learning. It's more logical and straight forward than english.

Link it boyo.

If I'm not able to seduce a Japanese woman by June I'm in big trouble.

So I'd say 8 months.
I just checked my calendar and it turns out, I don't have any big plans set for me for at least the next 70 years, or my life. So I'm all cleared I guess, but when and how does one start? Do I just Google it? Do I sign up for a Japanese learning class cities away from where I live? Is there books? Is there videos? I'd really like to know.

What has helped you?
Well growing up in Hawaii helped, I was around a lot of native speakers. But recently I have a lot of manga in Japanese so I use it to help me learn. Also different online programs help too

here
since this thread is full of autism instead of useful resources
I was looking for that, the DoJG Deck is what I used to learn grammar.
Don't bother reading the explanations, just skim some of the sentences and move on.

You'll actually feel Japanese getting easier as time goes on. A very real sense of progress over weeks and months.

HAHAHA you picked the asian guy for me.
Great detail bro.

:feelsgah::feelsgah::feelsgah::feelskek::feelskek::feelskek:

I might join, but I would like to learn Russian first for personal reasons, Japanese would be fun only to play some of the untranslated gems
