No you aren't, he already has like 400K subs and in the search algorithm his videos will show up first. YouTube is first come first serve. There are thousands of channels making shit content, and I mean 10 second meme clips, with 500K+ and 1 Million+ subs, and that's because they started their channel in 2010 and so on.
YouTube TAKES YEARS (decade +) for most people to make it profitable, and you will need the drive and free time to upload consistently, keep finding good content, probably do some advertising (costs money), etc, before you start making any good money from it.
It also has a lot to do with simply getting lucky and having a video go viral.
Good luck, but don't get your hopes up so you feel like shit if it fails, treat it like a "hobby", because it's very unlikely you'll make it. YouTube was saturated to begin with, and COVID sending everyone home has only made it even more saturated.
Also, who the hell here would even trust you.
