So, recently I have noticed that more and more of the video I watch on youtube have this annoying auto dub turned on.

First of all, it is a super annoying AI voice and the translation is also extremely wrong in almost every case.

But anyway, I don't want to have to listen to this robotic voice and neither do I need a translation.

I watch videos in German, English, Russian, French and Dutch because I speak most of them fluently and some I at least understand enough to get the message / context.

In fact I intentionally watch videos in these languages to practice.

BUT, nowadays I have to manually turn on the original audiotrack on almost every video.

It is so very annoying and apparently this is the only way to always get the original track.

What is even worse, youtube uses an auto dub based on the language settings of either your google / youtube account or mobile phone.

Since those are set to English, I always, ALWAYS get the english dub.

Does anyone of you know whether there is an option somewhere in the google settings to turn off auto dub for any video?

It even aut dubs the dozens of ads that annoy the fuck out of me.

Looks like there is a way.

Basically, go to the youtube homepage, click on your icon, then the cogg (general), scroll down to "video audio setting"
click on subtitles and there turn of sub titles.

Then, apparently every video will play with its original track.

This reminds me of the new Suzuki Swift which has all these safety features that make all kinds of annoying and distracting warning sounds for all kinds of shit and instead of providing the user with one button to turn them all off, they've turned it into a tedious procedure that takes almost a minute to turn it all off, EVERY TIME YOU TURN ON THE ENGINE!!!
How fucked up is that?!

Mazda has exactly that kind of button in their all new Mazda CX-60.

I also hate the start and stop automatic crap.

You can't just turn it off permanently somewhere in the settings. Every time you start the engine, you have to turn it off with the push of a button. EVERY SINGLE TIME.

Like, I am not starting an airplane, for fucks sake!!!

I don't want to have to press dozens of buttons before I can drive to wageslave... .

You know how many browser extensions I have installed just to deal with YouTube's BS?

SIX, SIX FUCKING BROWSER EXTENSIONS BECAUSE JEWTUBE ARE A BUNCH OF KIKES FORCING CLICKBAIT SLOP DOWN OUR THROATS AND SHIT WE DON'T WANT. It wasn't even that problematic 5 years ago.

You might as well use something like invidious or newpipe to not deal most of their bullshit.
