never even heard the second phrase before, but I would imagine they mean the same thing more or less or you wouldn't put this forward

"I'm rubber, you're glue. Everything you say bounces off me and sticks to you." That's the full saying. "You're projecting" just puts a pseudo-Freudian spin on it.
