There is no such thing as perfect parents, the problem is that back 20-30 years ago it was viewed as weird to get married and not have children so everyone had children even though they would pass on mental illness. In my case, i was fat since child from the trash my parents gave me to eat, so all other kids treathed me bad, very few friends (the weirds boys) and no interactions with girls. You know, that moment when no one choose you to do a group work with you, or when you are always the last kid to be choosen to play football in Physical Education class.
