Yeah they seemed hit and miss too me too when I saw some footage.

More goofy cartoony stuff with very unfunny characters who won't stop commenting on everything.

Thing is EVERYTHING is fun if you've got your mates with you.

I feel like it should be pretty good regardless.

I think though that for the most part if a game is truly good then it should be fun solo too.

only campaign games can be fun solo even then you are playing with AI
Try doing Minecraft solo you will be bored after a while
the 2 week mine craft phase is common

Not that it's AS fun. But it shouldn't be a bad experience. Or to me it suggests that the core game isn't very good.
