"Quality Builds", "Learn the bosses attack patterns", "You have to die in order to learn". All these stupid copes and advice that doesn't even make sense. Quality builds are only for Pvp and are by no means "quality" in the sense of a word, it's just the stupid elitist fanbase trying to sound smart.
Also, the RNG is so varied and random that you want to end the battle as soon as possibe cause the more you figght the more chances are that the boss starts spamming. And if you have to die 100 times to beat a boss then you are doing something wrong.
Melee sucks in DS. The shity camera, lack of iframes, limited stamina, the game is not optimized for close combat. Sometimes it works, sometimes is doesn't. Wanna know the secret to breezing through the game? It's called Sorcery.
Look up "Magic User Guide" on fextralife, "how to be OP and SL1" in DSR on YT. If you apply these methods, you can easily beat the game without having to deal so much with bullshit RNG and trollish boses.
Ffs, why doesn't anyone on reddit or gamestop ever suggest using spells? It's the most reliable way to beat bosses, plus, you can always have an INT based melee weapon like an Enchanted Longsword or Moonlight Greatsword. "Magic is for pussies", "DS is meant for melee", who the fuck says this BS? Some random loser online? The developers included Spells and Pyromancies in the game as well because they were intended to be used by the players.
But the shitty elitist community has it's own perception of the game where spells are a sin and only pure melee builds are legit. But of course, using items like Green Blossom in pvp because your obese Havel using character can't move is A-ok. Green blossom, firebombs, daggers, are more cheap than spells because any build can use them while in order to use sorcery, you have to train your character accoordingly and waste lots of time and souls for it.
JFL at anyone who bothers asking on forums about DS. Watch walkthroughs, learn how stuff works, decide your build, be versatile Use spells, miracles, pyromancies, bows, swords whatever suits you in each situation. So many people give up because they were told to use Claymore and only raise STR/DEX/VIT. Claymore never does enough damage. Only 433 with 30 STR/DEX while a Moonlight Greatsword does the same damage with 45 INT ONLY and you also have powerful spells like Soul Spear in your arsenal.
